Problems? What problems?
| I have read many complaints about the way this case closes, namely: (1) it turns the Palm on and drains the battery, and (2) it is very hard to close. So the moment I received this item I watched out for these two problems. It took me a minute to figure out that (1) is, indeed, a problem -if- you keep using your old stylus. Fortunately the case comes with a replacement that has an oversized, anatomic butt, for easy access while in the case. One the new stylus was in place, I couldn't make the case turn the unit on. (2) is even easier--just follow the instructions. The case is meant to be closed by applying pressure half way on the side. There's even a small arrow to indicate that. Put both lids together, apply pressure at that point, and With this out of the way, I have to say this case is very good. It's sturdy, sized perfectly, and -very- beautiful. The hinges are concealed so it won't entangle like other models. The lid The only downside is the business card holder. I don't think it can comfortably keep more than three cards. The holder has two very tight pockets, to slide in two corners (one side) of the business cards. I found that using both pockets is a pain because their grip is way too tight. Instead, I use one pocket only, leaving three corners of the business cards free. It works perfectly fine. | |
Good for about 4-5 months
| I had no problem with this case up until now (4-5 monts after the purchase date). The plastic wore out and now I cant keep this case closed. It does close but opens at the slightest disturbance. Given the price of this unit, the closing mechanism could have been designed a bit better. | |
Not perfect but it offers great protection for your PDA
| I just purchased my SECOND n500 Series Hard Case. The first one was battered, dented, broken. Just to give you an idea of how often I dropped it, the old case had at least 10 dents in it. The last drop completely broke the case, BUT MY PDA STILL LOOKS BRAND NEW, thanks to quality and strength of this product. And, I'm happy to report that my new case appears to be even stronger than the first. Unfortunately, it's not perfect. For one thing, the hinge that the secures the PDA to the case only allows 90-degree movement. So when you recharge your PDA, the case gets in the way. I've had to tape the charger to my desk so that the case will hang over the edge; you can also set the charger on a box. Another little sore point is that there are no pockets for memory cards. There is a credit card pocket, but these don't fit in very well. But these are minor gripes when compared to the protection this case provides for your PDA. All things considered, it's a great product and I highly recommend it. I might also add that I bought mine from PerformancePDA, one of Amazon's third-party vendors. The price was fantastic, with fast delivery, and superb customer service. And, yes, it's really truly an authentic Palm case.
